About the Club

Aldea Book Club is a reading community founded in 2020 in Monterrey, México. Fourteen members meet monthly, each taking turns to choose the next book. There are no vetoes. The only rule is engagement — with the text, with each other, and with the ideas that surface in conversation.

What began as a casual reading group has grown into something more deliberate. Over six years, Aldea has hosted more than 48 guest scholars from over 30 universities across six countries, turning each session into a conversation between readers and experts. This site is the archive of that ongoing intellectual journey.
